Nestled on a hillside with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the lush huertas of Pescadero, this modern Mid Century home stands as a unique architectural achievement. The Setting: A Prestigious Location Above Gavilan
The home is located in the prestigious area known as Gavilan, a place prized for its natural beauty and tranquility. From this vantage point, the sweeping views stretch across the Pacific Ocean, offering a constantly changing panorama of light and color. Below, the huertas of Pescadero—fertile orchards and gardens—add a patchwork of green that contrasts beautifully with the blue ocean beyond.

The hillside location posed challenges that the architects turned into opportunities, creating a home that feels both grounded and expansive.

This 5 bedroom estate home boasts a separate main home housing the primary bedroom with ensuite. All doors are fully retractable into the walls. Every room has outstanding views to the Pacific and the huertas plus Sierra de La Laguna mountains. The kitchen boasts top of the line Viking appliances, two dishwashers, custom Parota cabinetry, walk-in pantry, pasta filler, and handmade custom tile from Guadalajara. The glass also has full shade protection hurricane protection film. There is a wood burning fireplace, built in wet bar, half bath, and laundry. From the primary residence, three steps down to an incredible outdoor living space that houses a heated(solar powered heat pump for pool), Pebbletec pool, a full outdoor kitchen, full outdoor bathroom, outdoor living room with firepit, day bay, loungers and lush landscaping with sweeping views again of the Pacific and the huertas of Pescadero. There is a king day bed with shade structures. A large Parota table with chairs serves as an outdoor dining table or bar. A short staircase takes you to a rooftop deck for star gazing, yoga and just an escape from the visitors you are surely to have at this incredible property. The roof deck also houses the solar panels. There is a 2+bay garage plus covered parking. Inside the garage here are 3 storage rooms, one being a 3 piece bath (not completed but plumbed), another storage for pool equipment, solar batteries plus invertor(15Kw system with 8Kw inverter plus 16Kw Lithium Ion battery back-up. This room also houses a gas hot water heater. There is a 3rd large storage area for a wine cava or valuables and or garden implements, etc.. The garage door is electric as is the car gate. While the home can be entered from the drive in area, it can also be accessed through the gate leading to the pool area. From here you'll descend two flights of stairs to the lower building which houses a lovely king bedded room with en suite bath and outstanding views of the Pacific and huertas of El Pescadero. Next door is a proper one bedroom apartment with a king size bed, en suite bathroom. Separating the sleeping quarters are barn doors that house a living, dining a full kitchen with also a dishwasher. The sofa can be used as another bed. This accommodation has a wrap around private patio affording the same magnificent views. There's small seating area accessed from underneath this catilevered home with a wood burning firepit and chairs. Needless to say, there is nothing comparable to this home in the Pacific North or even Los Cabos.
